Tyrone has some major adjustments to make. He is fresh out of jail and has been turned away from the life of luxury that Wheeler Industries, the family hotel chain, used to afford him. His days of being the spoilt younger son are over. He transitions from jail to working for his father as a Mail Department Manager. Not exactly what he envisioned while serving his time. Nor did he think he’d be living in a rental that he would have to pay for out of his new, greatly-reduced salary. Farryn Grant, his father’s personal assistant, has been assigned to help him transition to a much simpler life. Neither of them anticipate how this arrangement will affect their hearts.
Most importantly, Tyrone has to figure out how to make peace with the pain he has caused his brother and sister-in-law, Cherise whom he raped during a frat party. This assault continues to fracture his family, who are in the process of healing. None of them have quite figured out how to deal with the fact that while he is the father of Diamond, the child that resulted from the assault, it’s his brother who is raising her. This story leaves one wondering if there can be redemption for Tyrone. Will he and his hurting family ever find a healing place?

"In Search Of A Healing Place" by Nikki Walker was just that where everyone (the Wheelers) in this story was healing in one way or the other. Now, the twin brother was now out of jail. Would their be major adjustments for Tyrone now that he was out of jail...Yes. How would he adjust to all of this? ... his new job, his family...his father, brother and sister in law?...and most of all his daughter, Diamond. There will be a lots of healing and forgiving in this read. Tyrone has to deal with his twin brother(Jon) was raising his daughter and had even married the woman that he (Tyrone) had raped. Will these two brothers be able to forgive one another? I did like how the author "showed Tyrone's transition from spoiled and privileged to a man who must live a more modest life and come to terms with both what he did and who he is" and was his relationship with Farryn Grant have anything to do with some of this? This story will go back and forth in the read from Tyrone to Jonathan, so you will have to keep up which will be easy to do. Be prepared for a very emotional read that will present "love, family, forgiveness and above all... redemption." From the opening of the read...'allowing God into your life'..."In Search of a Healing Place" but will it be found in the end for these three...for Cherise, Jonathan and Tyrone? Again, you will only have to pick up this good read to find out whether in the end will they find their 'Healing Place.'
All of the characters were very well developed and believable and this author was able to deliver to the reader a 'very difficult subject on how that love and faith can conquer all.' This was indeed a amazing good read. Very well done and presented....Ms. Walker!

This was one of my first books by Nikki. I enjoy the realness of the characters and the situations. She was not afraid to cover topics that most romance novelist shy away from. The risk was well worth it. I am a bit of a romance lover and an avid reader. I have read almost every scenario. The synopsis drew me in and had me read the previous stories in the series ( redemptive. Acts 1 and2). By all means read them first, they give you the background that you need. While I enjoyed them I think that Nikki saved the best for last!!! This novel helped you see transformation of the characters. It was truly inspirational. Romance was the underlying theme, but there were plenty of other situations that made it not your typical romance novel. The only reason I did not give this novel all 5 stars is due to grammatical errors. Even with the frequent mistakes Nikki captivated me and had me laughing, crying and talking to the book. I have read some of her other works, but enjoy the dramatic romances the best. She is truly talented!!!!!
Several readers have offered in-depth reviews on Nikki Walker's exceptional story about forgiveness, redemption and the bond between brothers and families. I can't add much more to the stellar reviews but I certainly wanted to endorse this book. It is a well written, thoughtful exploration of women's ongoing journey back to wholeness after an assault that resulted in a child. She is rescued in a sense by the assailant's twin brother who marries her out of concern but loves her and her child. The story begins with the assailants release from prison as a changed man who deeply regrets his past. As others have commented I was prepared not to like this character. But I did as the author revealed his personal growth and love for his young daughter. The characters are well developed and story is told in such a manner that you gain insight into their personal angst and desires for happiness. There are three love stories in this book, all complex, touching and thought provoking. I am recommending this book and the prequel to my book club. It is one you will want to discuss.
I fell in love with Redemptive Acts I &II and it's no stretch that the same applies for In Search of A Healing Place. Ms. Walker weaves a very profound tale of loss, discovery, faith, and redemption with the continuation of the on goings of the Wheelers. Reading this, I got a sense that all of the characters were in a state of turmoil; Tyrone was left to his own devices to find himself once more, Farryn struggles to reconcile her growing attraction to Tyrone, Jon and Cherise still contend with the aftermath of her attack. Ms. Walker doesn't hesitate to toe the line with the explosive emotion or portraying how one selfish act of the past can affect so many people. She delves into the heart of pain, revels in the joy of happiness and love, and gives us hope in the spirit of human nature.In Search of a Healing Place is a beautiful portrait of love and how powerful it really can be.
Truly a spectacular read!
This was a Beautiful Read about Second Chances... Ty is the last person that I thought would be able to change his stripes. I know in the second Redemptive Series book he showed signs, but I never thought he would put in the needed therapy and other requirements needed to convince Cherise and Jon to allow him to be in the same room as Diamond. Diamond, I love it when the kids have an active role in the stories and little Diamond grabbed the reins and never let go. I absolutely loved Farryn for Ty. She helped him understand where he messed up with Cherise. And I truly loved how Ty's heart melted whenever he saw Diamond. Seeing how Cherise and Jon were struggling with how married life was supposed to be happily ever after was brilliant in this story. The author does a great job of taking advantage of character chemistry throughout this series.
